Hand Painted Scarves ? Literally Works of Art

if the items we buy are mass produced or hand, some of us give much consideration as they are produced. The observation of the process of creating a hand-painted scarves, but there is a real appreciation of the amount of time, effort and creativity that goes into each piece – because these elements are authentic and beautiful works of art telephones. The work of the artist must, of course, start with the design. Inspiration can come from any number of sources, such as the natural world of flowers or animals, or pieces of abstract art. Wherever they may be, designers are constantly creating in the search for shapes and colors in the unique work they. Once the design concept took shape in the mind of the artist, he or she will usually get first sketch an idea of what the finished product will look like. Therefore, the design is then hand to the appropriate size piece of silk, which is initially stretched over a wooden frame to provide a level surface free of wrinkles. Silk pins are used to lay the fabric on the frame, and the artist must be careful not to adjust the tension so that the silk remains taut. In some cases, the silk before the current design is created to be more inclusive on the screen, and made another in the last part of the process. either with hot wax or other products that act as a barrier to the dyes used to color the fabric, the artist draws the outline drawing. It is not only the outer border of the trendy set up, however, that the outlines of the individual blocks of color, how big or small. In some cases, rather than the design freehand drawing directly on the fabric, the artist would first draw a template on paper with a black marker and put it under the silk used as a guide in the application of the wax. When the outline of the design has been created, then the wax will dry before the process can continue. Then the application of dyes that are applied with a brush. Work created in each of the borders by the wax, the artist needs to build on the colors of the painted design. Since the key to dye fabric, it flows to the edges of the blank wax and stops. Every single part of the design is created in exactly the same way, then the background is also colored. After leaving all the silk is dry again and then carefully removed the wooden frame wrapped in cotton wool before being placed in a special machine to steam for several hours. This process removes not only contains wax from fabric, but it also defines the dyes. The scarf is then washed to remove excess color, the color balance with both strong and colorfast. So next time you weigh, whether produced for the silk-factory, or to go piece, consider how loving care and attention to detail, and how many talents to the creation of unique, handcrafted dedicated. You never want to buy mass produced.

View the Energy and Dimension of Pascale-Nancy’s Works in the French Perspective at Agora Gallery

Pascale-Nancy‘s spectacular abstract expressionist acrylic and mixed media paintings feature dramatic juxtapositions of color and a sculptural understanding of paint. Raised in the south of France and now living near Montreal, her work evokes both the color palettes and lighting effects of French post-Impressionists, and the abstract tradition of post-war Quebec. More than combining disparate art historical traditions, though, Pascale-Nancy seeks to bridge the visible world and parallel dimensions of energy.

Though often extrapolated from some real environment – whether urban or natural – she reduces physical forms to their most essential to uncover shimmering color fields and bold, expressive shapes. Sometimes the resulting works are playful, light-dappled compositions of complimentary hues, elsewhere Pascale-Nancy conveys extreme energies with sharp forms and starkly contrasting colors. Each work’s emotional resonance is undeniably gripping, conveying extremes of shock, melancholy and ambition. These are bolstered by the paints’ textures, which go from brisk daubs and even swaths to jagged peaks and frenetic brushstrokes. Pascale-Nancy channels the brilliant energies she portrays so insightfully.

Exhibition Dates:  June 29, 2010 – July 20, 2010
